Building More Than A Store

When we first started talking about Side B, we weren't thinking about shelves, coffee, or even vinyl records.

We were thinking about people.

We were thinking about the feeling of walking into a place where you instantly feel welcome. A place where conversations happen naturally, where strangers become friends through shared interests, and where music brings people together in ways that streaming playlists never could.

As vinyl enthusiasts ourselves, we've spent years collecting records, discovering artists, and appreciating the stories behind every album. Along the way, we realized that while Johor Bahru has many great cafes and growing creative spaces, there are still very few places dedicated to building a true music and vinyl community.

That is the future we hope to create.

Our goal is not simply to open another cafe or another retail store. We want to build a space where music lovers, collectors, creatives, students, and curious newcomers can gather under one roof. A place where someone can discover their first vinyl record, attend a listening session, learn from fellow collectors, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee while surrounded by great music and even better company.

As young entrepreneurs who are still pursuing our studies, we understand that this journey will not be easy. There are many uncertainties ahead, and we are learning something new every day. But we believe that every meaningful community starts with a shared passion and a willingness to take the first step.

Our dream is to establish Side B as the heart of vinyl culture in Johor Bahru — not because we want to be the biggest, but because we want to create a space that genuinely matters to the people who walk through our doors.
